This chapter includes Coach a Vietnam vet, an ex-gang banger. Coach was a good guy who Eddie talks to from time to time. Eddie helps him do work at the gym re fixing the lines and airing up the basketballs. After Eddie confronted Lupe's little brother Samuel to ask where Angel is. After Samuel pulls a knife on Eddie Coach comes in to try to help him out. Eddie runs to his godmothers home and tries to get his mom to help him hide from some people.

Response:
This chapter introduces Jose Dominguez a man that Eddie went to high school with. Jose wants to hang out with Eddie witch he hasn't seen for a long time. He has just got out to the armed forces and is now gonna spend time with his old class mate. They both go out to catch up for awhile and then Eddie spot Mr. Stiles truck. After Eddie calls him and tells him where to go to get his truck. After he walks out he find Jose going towards the truck and then gets confronted by some gang members and gets stabbed. Now Eddie has to get him to the hospital.
Somebody: Jose
Wanted: To hang out with Eddie
But: He gets stabbed by gang members
So: He gets sent to the hospital
Then: Jose's family comes and blames Eddie for what happened

Quote: The good life is one where you go to work, do an eight-hour shift, and return home to your family, where your kids are wild for you.
Response: This chapter talks about how Eddie's Friend angel comes over after getting a gun form Eddie's aunt. Eddie is trying to get angel to leave, also he tries to find out if angel stole the truck. After angel leave Eddie goes to collage for his classes and sees Mr. Yellow Shoes, the same color shoes that the guy who killed Juan was wearing. Now Eddie is following him around and then in the parking lot he confronts him. After Eddie doesn't get any information out of him. He retreats home to relax when he finds a note from Mr. Stiles now he has to explain what happened to his truck. Then Eddie's mom comes to visit and tries to get him to get with a girl that they know. Shortly after he gets a call from Norma from the college and takes off to see her.

This chapter talks about how Eddie has finally found a job with a man named Stiles. I felt that Eddie's luck have finally changed and he is starting to do well. Until a young boy picks up on a bad word that almost gets Eddie in a load of trouble. Also Eddie gets to use Mr.Stiles truck to pick up some things he needs. Everything was going good for him until the truck got stolen.Now Eddie has to find a way to fix it and tell Mr.Stiles what happened.More trouble comes Eddie's way, now he is wast deep in something that he might not be able to fix.

This chapter introduced a man named Eddie, and how he is trying to complete his dream in life. Witch is to get an good job and to stay out of trouble even when times get tough. I think how he says life is like an onion was a good way to compare two things. It compared the onion to tears or sadness to show that life can sometimes be that way even if you don't expect it to happen. It makes it seem like he is telling everyone to stay aware of everything that happen. Eddie's aunt is trying to get him to do something that he don't want to do.He knows if if takes that road he will be no different than the guy that killed his cousin. Also he doesn't want lose any opportunity's that he can get to get a job.
